Pom Klementieff

Pom Klementieff was born on the 3rd of May 1986. She studied at the Cours Florent drama school, Paris. She has been in films like Loup 2009, Sleepless Night 2011 and Hacker's Game 2015. She plays the Mantis character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017). Avengers: Infinity War (2018). Avengers: Endgame (2019). Pom Klementieff was born in Quebec City, Canada, to the parents of a Korean mother and French-Russian father who was employed there as a consul with the French government. Eugene Klementieff was her grandfather. Since it sounds like the Korean words for "spring" or "tiger" her parents named their daughter Pom. Klementieff was in Canada for a short time before her family was able to travel extensively due to her father's job. Prior to making the move to France, they lived in Japan as well as on the Ivory Coast. Her father was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 5 and her mother suffered from schizophrenia and was unable to take care of children, so Klementieff was cared for by her aunt and uncle who were paternal. Her uncle, whom she described as "like her father" passed away when she turned 18 and her brother, who was older, committed suicide seven years after, this the time on her 25th birthday. After the passing of her uncle, Klementieff went to law school for a short time to please her aunt. However, she didn't think the path was appealing. She was also salesperson and waitress in France. She began acting at the age of 19 in the Cours Florent drama school in Paris. She was just one month into her studies when she was awarded an audition for a stage show that gave her two years of tuition with the best teachers at the school. Klementieff was the first actor to play professionally in the independent French film Apres lui (2007). She played the stepdaughter for the lead character, Catherine Deneuve. Three days were spent filming her scenes. One scene featured Klementieff pushing someone down the set stairs, but she fell. Gael Morel saved that scene for the film that was to be released. Loup (2009) is the French film that focuses on the Siberian reindeer herders, was her debut big role. Klementieff was filming at the camp that was located hours away from the nearest village. It was there that temperatures plummeted to zero.
