Maureen O'Hara Biography

Maureen O'Hara was a renowned American performer and actress of Irish origin. The fiery, passionate characters she appeared in range of American films were well-loved by the green-eyed beauty , with flashing hair and fiery eyes. Her beautiful and glamorous appearance was much appreciated and she was widely regarded as the "Queen of Technicolor in Hollywood. Her character onscreen was a reflection of her strong, courageous spirit who fought to survive and gain recognition in a male-dominated world. She often referred to herself as the "tough Irish lass" who will never sacrifice her reputation and respect in order to secure the roles she was entitled to through merit. She stood up to injustices and unjust treatment of female actors during her film career and earned lots of followers. The autobiography 'Tis Herself', written by her which was published in 2004 gave an honest and honest about her life's experiences, including the difficulties in climbing the ladder to achieve success. She was an active woman who wasn't afraid of performing her own stunts. In the course of her career she was in more than 60 films, and gained the attention of many across the world. Following her departure from Parra and getting married, she met Charles F. Blair Jr. in 1968. He was a former brigadier and chief pilot and an early pioneer in transatlantic aviation. A few years into their marriage, she decided to finally retire. Blair, however, was killed in a tragic plane accident in 1978. O'Hara's happiness lasted only a few days. She was diagnosed with uterine cancer the same year and underwent an immediate operation. She was capable of recovering. She suffered from six heart attacks, short-term memory loss, and diabetes type 2 over the next years. O'Hara was 95 years old. She peacefully passed away in Boise on the 24th of October, 2015.
