Anna Maria Chlumsky (born December 3, 1980) is an American actress. Her career began as a child actress. She is best known playing the leading role of Vada Sultenfuss in My Girl (1991) and its sequel in 1994. Between 1999 and 2005, Chlumsky's career took a break during her college years. With roles in several independent films like Blood Car (2007), and In the Loop (2008) In the Loop (2008), she returned to acting. From 2012 to the year 2019, Chlumsky played Amy Brookheimer in the HBO series Veep. She has earned six nominations from Primetime Emmy Awards, including Outstanding Supporting Actress in the Comedy Series. Chlumsky was born in Chicago (Illinois) to Nancy (nee Zuncic), an actor and singer, as well as Frank Chlumsky Jr. a musician and chef. Her family was a Catholic family. Chlumsky is from Czech[6][7] and Croatian descent. Chlumsky engaged to Shaun So, an Army Reserve member in October of 2007. They were both students at the University of Chicago from 2000 to 2000. Then, they were sent to Afghanistan from 2004 to the year 2006. [21] They married on March 8 2008 in Brooklyn, New York, and have two daughters born July 2013 and August 2016.
