Amanda Blake

Amanda Blake, an American actress, is best known for her character as Miss Kitty Russell (red-haired saloon owner) on Gunsmoke. Frank Gilbert, her husband, was an entrepreneur as well who created one of the most successful programs that breed captive cheetahs. The actress is an animal lover. Everyone has heard of PAWS at the very least. The PAWS organization has volunteers who assist animals all over the world. They usually find shelters for animals, or to support wildlife. Amanda Blake was one of the individuals who contributed to establish the organisation. In the film "Gunsmoke" 1967, she was introduced to Pat Derby (a cofounder of PAWS). Pat was a trainer for animals and Amanda was Miss Kitty. In 1984, PAWS was established by an actress who gave huge sums of money to the charity and left a substantial amount of financial support after her death. She donated her Los Angeles home, worth $400,000 to Derby's animal shelter.
